Success Story

NINE ZERO HOTEL - Boston, MA

In late 1999, Destination Hotels & Resorts was chosen to assist with the development and management of a proposed 190-room Four-Star hotel in Boston's central business district.

A plethora of luxury and upscale hotels were under development in the downtown Boston area at the time. To minimize the affects of a new supply, Destination searched for a market niche that provided an opportunity for the property to capitalize on. It was determined there were very few properties, existing or proposed, that were positioned a step above the upscale hotels to attract guests from both the upscale and luxury market segments. This was to become the market niche for NINE ZERO Hotel.

Destination worked with the developer to formulate an appropriate construction budget for the market segment. High-end luxury spending was not necessary, but the property needed to surpass the upscale segment in facilities and amenities. A delicate balance of capital outlay and property potential was required to distinguish NINE ZERO Hotel from the competition. The property was designed as a fusion of traditional style and modern décor. Boasting a traditional red brick facade, the hotel's guest rooms are equipped with the latest technology, including DVD players and high-speed Internet access. A restaurant was devised to be a viable entity of its own, adding to revenue.

With Destination's assistance in development planning, NINE ZERO Hotel is well prepared for increased competition in the Boston market.
